Combine a football trip to Ajax with a visit to Amsterdam

If you find yourself in the centre of Amsterdam, you’re probably standing in front of ‘De Dam’. The Dam is adjacent to a square where you’ll also find the Royal Palace (het Koninklijk Paleis), the Nieuwe Kerk and the National Monument (Nationaal Monument). The Madam Tussauds is also adjacent to the square and you’ll find waxen statues of celebrities here. If you like shopping, you’re in luck. You can enter the most famous shopping street in Amsterdam, the Kalverstraat, via two sides of the square. You’ll find the Rembrandtplein when you have walked down the street, which is full of nice restaurants and bars. It lightens up here at night, which makes it the perfect spot to come here after a football match to drink a beer. The Jordaan is famous for its lively nightlife, as well. There’s a lot to experience here after a football match of Ajax!

What else is there to do in Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is full of interesting museums. Take, for example, the world-famous Anne Frank Huis. You’ll get to know everything about the Frank family and about the persecution of Jews during World War II. You might want to order tickets online before getting there, because there is always a queue outside the house.

Many Dutch artist have made their debut during the Golden Age, amongst them the famous Rembrandt van Rijn and Van Gogh. You finally get to see the big Nachtwacht with your own eyes in the Rijksmuseum and you’ll learn everything about the artist himself in the Rembrandthuis. You should absolutely visit the Van Gogh Museum, too, because a beautiful light show will be used to present his works to you.

Relax in Amsterdam

The capital city bulks of beautiful and relaxing parks. You can wander through the immense Vondelpark for an entire day or visit the Rembrandtpark.
