The titanium building itself is already an attraction to admire, but modern artefacts can be found inside, along with old works of Picasso and Salvador Dalí. This museum displays different kind of artefacts from the 12th century until arts that can be found nowadays.

Discover Bilbao

Bilbao is a very modern city, but a part of the city forms what used to be the centre of the city. It is called ‘Las Siete Calles’ - the Seven Streets - which gives you an insight of what the historical centre of the city looked like. It is filled with old and convivial lanes where other sights, like the Santiago Cathedral, are located amongst nice restaurants and bars. It can get very festive during evenings, which makes it the perfect place to go out. So do you want to have a drink before or after a match of Athletic Bilbao? That’s perfectly possible at Las Siete Calles!

Bilbao from above

Would you like to admire the city from another perspective? You can do this at the Funicular & Mount Artxanda where you’ll see Bilbao from above. The funicular will bring you on the mountain Artxanda where a breath-taking view is waiting to be seen. You will see outstanding buildings from above, like the church Basilica de Begoña, the Puente Colgante bridge and the Zubizuri Bridge (composed by the same designer of la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia). These are definitely worth checking out up close, on foot or on bike.

Indoor markets can be found all over Spain and Bilbao offers one of the greatest indoor markets in Spain. The Mercado de La Ribera – the market on the riverside – consists out of three floors and is divided into different sections: something for everyone!
