Despite the exciting denouement last year, Bayern Munich won the league again. It was their eleventh consecutive title. Bayern will kick off season 2023/24 with a match against Werder Bremen.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund was incredibly close to breaking Bayern’s dominance but ruined it by playing a draw on their last matchday. They lost on goal balance. The team from Dortmund are extra motivated to win the league this season. They were also the last to make this happen in the season of 2011/12. The first encounter between the two German top clubs will take place on 4 November. However, other German top clubs will be extra hungry to outcast the century-old champion and to put their stamp on the Bundesliga. Think about RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, or Bayern Leverkusen. All of these clubs produce amazing football and could surprise everyone this season.

The Bundesliga season 2023/24 will start on Friday 18 August in Bremen. The last round of play will take place on Saturday 18 May, 2024. Since history can repeat itself, the probability of the last match becoming a crucial one is likely.
