Estadi Cornellà-El Prat

RCD Espanyol has been playing at the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, or the RCDE Stadium, since 2009. The stadium is located in between the Cornellà and El Prat districts in Barcelona. The capacity of the stadium is 40,000.

This stadium is not the second or third stadium RCD Espanyol plays in; it is the eight stadium of RCD Espanyol. The club might stick a little longer to this stadium, since UEFA has given it a four-star status. This means that the stadium is in a very good shape. Luckily it is because the construction of the stadium costed around 60 million euros. The owner of the stadium hopes to still sell the naming rights of the stadium in order to recoup a small amount of the construction of the stadium. The naming rights were sold in 2014 and the stadium got renamed to Power8 Stadium, but this changed back to Estadi Cornellà-El Prat in 2016 because it appeared that the sponsor was guilty of fraud on several occasions.

The RCDE Stadium is located in the beautiful city of Barcelona and it’s quite near to the city’s centre. That’s why there are several ways of travelling through public transportation from Barcelona’s city centre to the RCDE Stadium. You can board metro three at Playa Catalunya to Playa Espanya. From Playa Espanya you have to board tram eight towards Molí Nou – Ciutat Cooperativa. Disembark at stop Cornellà-Riera and walk towards the stadium. You could also board train R4 from Playa Catalunya. You should disembark at stop Cornellà and then you have to walk another fifteen minutes to the stadium. Both options take a little longer than 30 minutes. You could also choose to hop on bus 67 towards Cornellà. The bus drives from Playa Catalunya to Rubió i Ors – Sant Isidre.
