Juventus Football Club, simply referred to as Juventus, was founded in 1897 and is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Italian history. They are nicknamed Veccia Signora, which means The Old Lady. Juventus, Latin for youth, play all of their home matches in the Juventus Stadium, also known as Allianz Stadium. The stadium in Turin has a capacity of over 41,000 seats.
As one of few clubs in Europe, Juventus has a joint record of winning all three big UEFA European competitions: UEFA Champions League (2), UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup (1) and UEFA Cup (3). Juventus have been playing in their black and white-striped kit since 1903, which officially belonged to English club Notts County. They are not the only Serie A-club based in Turin; in 1906 football club FBC Torino was founded, nowadays simpley referred to as Torino. The match between the neighbour-clubs is referred to as Derby Della Mole.
Juventus have won a total of 35 official League titles and have been on a winning streak in Serie A for 8 years now. Under former head coach Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus have won the league title, as well as the Coppa Italia three times in a row. With Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach, Juventus aims to get back at the European top as well, with players such as Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuaín, Miralem Pjanic and of course Cristian Ronaldo and new star player Matthijs de Ligt. They have also recently signed Aaron Ramsey, who was a big player for Arsenal for 11 years.
