Trip report Borussia Dortmund – VfB Stuttgart

At last: a football-free weekend in amateur football, so we decided to visit a football match in Germany. We had heard many good stories about Number 1 Football Travel, so we approached the company and they helped us amazingly!

They gave us several options and we chose to go to Borussia Dortmund because we were told the atmosphere in this stadium would be amazing. Travelling to Dortmund was easy and this club attracted us the most.

To Dortmund

We stepped into our car after work on Friday. It was busy on the roads, but we arrived in Dortmund at 7.30 P.M. We ate at a fantastic Italian restaurant somewhere in the centre, we highly recommend it! (Buon Gusto) Number 1 Football Travel booked a hotel for us where we stayed two nights. We stayed at the Hotel Unique Dortmund Haputbahnof, a four-star hotel in the centre of Dortmund, a great location and an amazing hotel with a simple, but good breakfast.

After breakfast, we wandered through the city and we shopped at a mall for about two hours where we bought some nice stuff! The best thing about the mall was that they had a great Borussia Dortmund fan shop and it was only 400 metres from our hotel!

The Biergarten at the Signal Iduna Park

Afterwards, we went to the stadium 3.5 hours before the start of the match and it was already super busy, everybody wearing the yellow and black jerseys of Dortmund. We went to the Biergarten next to the stadium, sat amongst German fans and really got a taste of the German culture! We drank some good beer and ate a German curry sausage.

The gala performance started after this. We entered the stadium 20 minutes before the start of the match and looked for our seats. We truly had the best seats in the stadium! We had a great view of the pitch: we sat at the sixth row and the four of us were seated really close together. It couldn’t get any better. Borussia Dortmund scored their first goal after 3 minutes and they played an amazing game. They won the match with 5-0! The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing and we enjoyed our time at the Gelbe Wand!

The afterglow

We went back to our hotel by taxi (which lasted only 10 minutes!) and drank a beer there. We ate at a German restaurant and we talked about the fantastic match and how much we liked this trip. We drove home on Sunday morning after we ate breakfast at the hotel. It was an unforgettable and very special experience!

I highly recommend to book a football trip at Number 1 Football Travel, because they arranged everything so well for us. We didn’t worry about a thing during our trip.

Number 1 Football Travel: thanks for putting our trip together so well and we’ll certainly book another trip at your travel agency!
