Due to irritations of foreigners joining the team of Juventus, the club fractured in 1906. The chairman back in the day, Alfredo Dick, established FBC Torino – the present Torino – where only high-skilled foreign footballers were allowed to play in. This is how the Derby della Mole was born.

The Derby della Mole was first played on the thirteenth of January in 1907. The derby didn't take place thirteen times since; twelve times due to Torino playing in the Serie B and one time because of the Italian football debacle in 2006, which made Juventus relegate.
